The problem for the Police is that they are subject to the here today gone tomorrow whims of the Home Secretary and the Prime Minister.
I am secure enough in myself not to worry about the gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation of the next permanent Commissioner.
What does concern me though is that unlike the HS and PM we have an individual with a much better moral and ethical compass appointed.

This woman has been scapegoated by Khan. An impossible job she made a reasonable fist of in my opinion.
Trying to blame her for the wrongdoings of a handful of bad apples in an organisation of 25,000 plus people is just unfair and naive
Perhaps we could start by rooting out the thieves, fraudsters and sex offenders in The House of Commons, a much smaller pool with a much greater proportion of such miscreants.
One things for sure, the next Commissioner won’t be a white, middle aged straight man no matter if that person has the best attributes to help keep Londoners safe.
Policing has long been a political football with hare brained ideas foisted upon a workforce who are generally hard working decent people trying to do their best in an incredibly difficult job.

Let's all be brutally frank. She got the job because she's a woman. Her miscalculations, incompetence, failure to lead, failure to follow due process and failure to bring bad behaviour into line has been catastrophic.
Yet, the woke's view is the Met needs more women in senior roles.
So when the next female, black, lesbian woman gets thrown into the lions den as Commissioner, you watch the same pattern unfold and the same disaster.
What the Met needs is a team of Commissioners. Of all sexes, backgrounds, and sexual orientations. Between then they can mange the politics, internal discipline, policy, values, PR etc etc. It's way too much for one person. All the Commissioner is at the moment is a person to carry the can if or when it all goes tits up.
Get a team of people in to carry the weight together and actually get the Met sorted out once and for all.

On Question Time last night the question was asked what next. And some woke bint started banging on that the racism, homophobia, sexism and misogyny in the Met is still due to a majority of white, middle aged, men in senior positions. And until the Met start employing women into senior roles nothing will change.
She was politely remined that Cressida Dick was a woman.
